A MAN from Bexhill has been charged with theft and assault.
Police received a report of a shop theft in Dittons Road, Polegate, at about 1.30pm on Friday, March 22.
Officers attended the scene and a man was arrested.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that Chris Ball, 28, of North Road, Bexhill, was charged with theft from a shop and with assault.
“Ball appeared before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on March 23 to answer the charges. He was remanded in custody until a further hearing on March 26.”
