HAILSHAM’S annual Christmas Market and festivities have changed locations due to the forecast of bad weather tomorrow (Saturday).
Rather than cancelling the plans, the event will now be held in The Wealden Civic Community Hall in Vicarage Lane from 8:30am to 3pm.
Carol singing with Hailsham Choral Society and music from Sussex Stompers will go ahead in the Civic Centre from 10:30am to 11am, the Sussex stompers are playing 12.45pm to 1.30pm and 1.45pm to 2.30pm.
The Farmers Market is still going ahead at the Cattle Market site with local produce and gifts.
The Christmas parade will not be going ahead, but the Best Dressed Elf and Best Dressed Dog competitions will be held at the Farmers’ Market as there is a sheltered area where this can be held.
Mayor Paul Holbrook will be cutting the 25th anniversary Farmers’ Market cake at 10.00 am at the Farmers’ Market and Hailsham FM will be broadcasting from both the Farmers Market and Civic Centre during the day.
Visitors are being urged to use the entrance to the Civic Centre from the Staff Car Park, not the Freedom Leisure side.
