A BEXHILL woman has been named in the prestigious New Year’s Honours List.
Nicola June Hawkins has been awarded the Order of the British Empire medal for her services to the community in Hastings and Rother.
Ms Hawkins is an accredited family mediator for Meditation East Sussex, based in St Leonards.
She joins more than 1,200 others who have delivered exceptional services to the communities they serve.
Recipients in Sussex include Tony Bloom, owner and chairman of Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion, will receive an MBE. George David Dowell, owner of Worthing Football Club, will also receive an MBE for his services to football and disability awareness.

- Jonathan Robert McGoh, of Brighton. Chairman and co-founder of The Reach Foundation, and co-founder and trustee, Reach Academy Feltham, London Borough of Hounslow, for his services to education.
- Oscar Victor Pinto-Hervia, of Brighton. Founder of Hervia, for his services to fashion and charity.
