MORE THAN 30 people from Sussex have been named in the New Year’s Honours List.
Recipients in Sussex include Tony Bloom, owner and chairman of Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion, will receive an MBE.
George David Dowell, owner of Worthing Football Club, will also receive an MBE for his services to football and disability awareness.
They join more than 1,200 others who have delivered exceptional services to the communities they serve.
Other East Sussex officers given the British Empire medal are:
- Nicola June Hawkins, of Bexhill. Family mediator for Meditation East Sussex, for her services to Rother and Hastings community.
- Christopher John Blandford, of Uckfield. President of World Heritage.
- Laurence Alexander Cummings, of Mayfield. Conductor, harpsichordist, music director of the Academy of Ancient Music and the London Handel Festival, and William Crotch Professor of Historical Performance, Royal Academy of Music. Mr Cummings is recognised for his services to music.
- David Farnsworth, of Brighton. Managing director of City Bridge Foundation. For services to the voluntary sector in London.
- Rachel Gaisburgh-Watkyn, of Crowborough. Managing director of Tiny Box Company, for her services to sustainability, and ethical business growth and exports.
- Jonathan Robert McGoh, of Brighton. Chairman and co-founder of The Reach Foundation, and co-founder and trustee, Reach Academy Feltham, London Borough of Hounslow, for his services to education.
- Oscar Victor Pinto-Hervia, of Brighton. Founder of Hervia, for his services to fashion and charity.
- Marc Howard Steene, of Brighton, founder and director of Outside in Art, for services to art.
