90% of the workforce employed by Biffa will strike for two weeks starting on Monday 2nd May over pay – after talks to avoid a strike collapsed last week.
Wealden District Council says residents must continue to put out their bins on their normal collection days, in the hope they will be collected by the small number of workers who continue with their duties.
From tomorrow (Monday 2nd May), WDC will be publishing daily updates on its website explaining which services are operating and which are not.
Council officers are continuing to work with Biffa’s management to reduce the impact on services.
It has also produced a list of questions and answers to explain to residents what is happening and why, what the impact may be and, what you can do.
