Boy arrested after three people injured in Sussex police pursuit

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences after a car he was driving was involved in a pursuit, shortly before crashing and injuring three people.

It happened at the A21 near John’s Cross yesterday (Thursday) and the road was closed most of the day, but reopened at 4am this morning.

The three occupants in one of the vehicles suffered serious injuries and were all taken to hospital.

Following the Police chase, the 16 year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop and aggravated vehicle taking.

Sussex Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).
