An 11-year-old boy is recovering after suffering a terrifying dog attack in a park in Hellingly last month.
He was walking in Hellingly County Park when he was apparently attacked from behind by a Husky and suffered the twenty-second ordeal causing distress- ing wounds to his body.
Witnesses are being asked to come forward in the hope of finding the owner of the dog before some- one else is attacked in the park. The Husky, that was on a lead, was being walked by a young blonde girl and a boy with dark hair, both reported to be around 14 years old.
It happened on 5th January at 3pm in the park near Roebuck Park.
The boy’s mother, Amelie, told Hailsham News: “The dog ripped its teeth through our son’s clothing, sink- ing into his arm before the adrenaline kicked in. His first reaction was to fight back by kicking the dog away, but it took the last bite on his hand. The owner
stood there and watched him fight, although they had full control of the dog on the lead and could have easily prevented this from happening. He is now psychologically traumatised and won’t go out anymore with the fear of something bad happening again.”
