The Chandlers BMW showroom has been glowing electric blue recently to launch its latest range of vehicles from its zero-emission line-up.
Visitors to the dealer, on Diplocks Way, Hailsham have been able to view the three electric vehicles which have received incredible feedback from drivers and have already gained numerous awards from industry publications.
The new iX, iX3 Sports Activity Vehicle and i4 Gran Coupé and the iconic i3 Sports Hatch, which was originally launched in 2014, have all been on display during a special weekend of electric vehicle promotions from Chandlers.
Electric vehicles are outselling diesel and petrol models throughout the UK, so these vehicles add to the massive number of choices available to consumers now.
Launched in the UK in summer 2021 with an electric range of up to 285 miles, the iX3 was the first fully electric-powered BMW X model, combining emissions-free travel, dynamic handling and performance with comfort, functionality and spaciousness that BMW fans have come to expect.
The showroom display also included the freshly launched BMW i4 Gran Coupé, a stunning four-seat coupé taking the new front end kidney grille styling, although electric vehicles don’t, in theory, need a grille, BMW believes the iconic kidney grille needs to remain on its new vehicles.
The base model i4 eDrive 40 can return up to 360 miles on a full charge and drivers opting for the top-of-the-range i4 M50 can enjoy an impressive 544hp on the open road.
At the top of the line-up, Chandlers have been displaying the iX which its footprint is as impressive as the technology and stunning exterior design. Its size is comparable to an X5, but because of the sheer size of it, the range is reduced to around 270 miles, again on a full charge in normal driving.
On the inside, the lack of a transmission tunnel and low mounted batteries, the iX is extremely spacious thanks to the slim ergonomic seats. Comfort access, heat comfort package, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, ventilated front seats, sun protection glass, four-zone air conditioning and front electric and massage seats are all items that can be opted for the iX range.
In addition to the standard offering on the iX xDrive 50, iX M60 customers receive 22” Air Performance alloy wheels, soft close doors, Laserlights and Parking Assistant Professional including the all-new Interior camera.
The latest generation iDrive display and control system expands the interaction between driver and vehicle; based on the new BMW Operating System 8 it has been designed with a clear focus on both the touch function of the new BMW curved display and voice communication with the extensively enhanced BMW Intelligent personal assistant.
Navigation with the cloud-based BMW Maps system and ‘Augmented Reality Video’ on the control display ensures fast and precise route planning as well as outstanding traffic guidance. The curved one screen display in all these vehicles is something to experience.
The BMW iX also recently achieved five-star ratings in all test categories of the Euro NCAP crash test. In the assessment of adult occupant protection, the testers highlighted among other features the effectiveness of the new interactive airbag between the driver and front passenger seats, which provides additional protection against injury in the event of a side collision. Child safety in the rear of the BMW iX was also given the highest possible score for both frontal and side collisions.
Prices of the range are comparable to other luxury electric vehicles on offer. The new i4 starts at £51,905, whilst the iX3 begins at £59,730 and the flagship iX costs from £69,905 on the road.
All of these vehicles are available to view at Chandlers BMW in Diplocks Way. Call 01323 306218 to speak to an expert or book a test drive.
