The Town Council has confirmed a number of staff members are self-isolating following a positive COVID case within the town’s Post Office.
Hailsham Town Council closed the Post Office last week as it hasn’t enough staff members to keep it open. As a result of the COVID case, three members of staff are self-isolating, as well as one member of Town Council office staff.
The Town’s Mayor, Councillor Paul Holbrook is also self-isolating after coming in contact with another member of staff.
Deep cleaning is to take place at the both the Post Office and the Town Council offices in Market Square.
A spokesperson told Hailsham News: “We’re having the post office professionally ‘Covid-cleaned’ on Thursday just so we can be safe – and the HTC office later this week or early next week.”
The Post Office is scheduled to reopen next Monday, 1st February.
