School children across the town are benefiting from kind donations from local business to help with their home schooling – thanks to a Hailsham based estate agency.
Crane and Co, based in the High Street recently launched its ‘Computers for Kids’ campaign to help give children access to an electronic device at home to help with their education during the COVID pandemic.
So far, 36 laptops and devices have been donated by Crane and Co, and local companies. Owner Mike Crane has been delivering them to local schools which are then distributed to children in need locally.
Six laptops were recently given to Grovelands Community Primary School, Step Academies and Hailsham Community College.
Mike commented: “Local school children need our help. School Teachers, Headmasters and all the support staff, that are helping our children continue their education through the pandemic closures, are having to overcome huge obstacles when delivering lessons while schools remain closed.”

He added: “Our own enquiries illustrate that in the region of 300 more laptops are needed throughout the Hailsham schools. So there are many many more children that we would love to help in our #ComputersForKids campaign.”
If you know of any local businesses would like to help us to continue the support, please do ask them to give us a call to find out how on 01323 440678 and ask for Mike or Katie.
