COVID-19 case confirmed at Hailsham Community College

Date:

A letter has been sent to parents of students of Hailsham Community College informing them of a confirmed case of COVID-19.

It told recipients that Public Health England had contacted the college through the NHS Test and Trace Service. The person is said to have developed COVID-19 symptoms at the weekend and has subsequently received a positive test result.

Parents are being told there has been ‘no contact with any pupils’.

A spokesperson from the college stated; “We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.”

The news came the day before face coverings became compulsory in shops and cafe’s across the UK.

If you or anyone in your household develop symptoms, you can seek advice from NHS on 111, or at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/check-if-you-have-coronavirus-symptoms/.
