It’s been a bad day for South-East Water in Hailsham, but there’s good news as it announces the lifting of the one-way system in Diplocks Way.
South East Water’s £250,000 project is now entering the final stages following more than 15 bursts in the past two years.
Construction has been carried out under a one-way system, which is in place between Apex Business Park and South Road.
However, from this evening (Thursday 26th April), the one-way system will be lifted and the company will carry out the final phase of work under traffic lights.
Jeremy Dufour, Project Manager at South East Water, said: “The team on site has made good progress over the past three months and we’re currently on schedule to complete the project.
“Our final phase of work will be carried out under three-way traffic lights which will be in place at Apex Way.
“I’d like to thank the local community for their ongoing patience and cooperation during these essential works.”

The scheme forms part of the company’s £424 million investment programme taking place between 2015 and 2020.
