Five arrested as National Crime Agency searches boat at Harbour

NATIONAL Crime Agency (NCA) officers have been carrying out searches at Sovereign Harbour after five people were arrested as part of a drugs investigation.

Witnesses reported a significant law enforcement presence at the marina on Monday, June 8, with officers seen searching a vessel and a nearby location.

Confirming the operation, an NCA spokesperson said: “Five suspects are in custody as part of a National Crime Agency drugs investigation. The arrests were made on Monday 8 June near Eastbourne Marina. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released in due course.”

At this stage, the NCA has not released any further information about the identities of those arrested or the nature of the suspected offences.
