Hundreds suffer continued power cuts and water problems

Date:

Residents in Bexhill still have no power which might not be fixed for another 24 hours.

UK Power Networks reports 164 residents are without power on the De La Warr Road area of the town, and stated ‘We’re fixing an overhead electricity cable that has been damaged in the local area.’

The problem for some residents may not be fixed until 22:20 on 21st Feb – according to UK Power Network.

Storm Eunice brought down many power lines across the south-east when it hit on Friday afternoon (18th Feb).

Hundreds of other residents in Ninfield and Hastings are also reported power outages this evening (Sunday), and could be without power for many hours.

Some residents have also reported lack of water pressure in their homes.

South-East Water has reported on its website: “Storm Eunice has knocked out power supplies to many of our sites, which means we are having difficulty pumping water around our network in some areas.”
