MOTORISTS are reminded to make careful plans this weekend as repairs works are underway on the A27.
The A27 will be closed near Lewes and Brighton to complete bridge repairs, from 8pm Saturday, March 1, to 6am Monday, March 4.
There will be a full closure westbound between the Ashcombe (Kingston) and Southerham roundabouts.
The National Highways posted on their Facebook page: “We’ll be carrying out a number of activities, including repairs, replacing the sensors under the carriageway, refreshing road markings, improving the road surface to reduce the risk of skidding, and waterproofing on the bridge that passes over Southerham railway line.
“Our improvements are weather dependant, and if we’re unable to complete the work as planned, we’ll need another weekend closure.
“This would mean the A27 eastbound will be closed between the Ashcombe and Southerham roundabouts from 8pm Friday, March 22 to 6am Monday, March 25.
“Keep an eye on our webpage and social media for more details.”
