Weather forecasters have suggested this week could be the hottest on record locally.
As hot air rises north from Africa, we could see temperatures as high as 36 degrees widely across the county with a 40% chance of the highest ever recorded temperature in the UK being exceeded.
Thursday will be the hottest day this week which could also include thunderstorms from 15:00, with a Met Office Weather warning in place.
Residents are being warned to stay hydrated, indoors during 11am and 3pm if possible and keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours during the hot period.
