The Met Office has issued a Red weather warning for the area which is in place between 10am-3pm today (Friday).
Cuckmere Community Buses have cancelled all its services in the town for the day and has said: “We plan to resume normal services on Saturday subject to road conditions.”
Stagecoach South East has also cancelled ALL of its services from 10am until 2pm, due to the weather conditions.
Hailsham Library will not be opening its doors to the public due to safety concerns.
Knockhatch Adventure Park, Drusillas Park and East Sussex School of Circus Arts have also all closed for the day.
Train services to and from Polegate and Hampden Park are also expected to be disrupted. Southern Railway has announced: “There will be extensive changes to train services. Where trains are able to run, we expect they will be delayed, altered or cancelled at short notice.”
The Met Office has warned residents should stay at home today and only travel is absolutely necessary.
