Emergency crews were called to Polegate this evening as a top-end sports car burst into flames after allegedly losing control.
The incident happened just before 7pm on Thursday (28th May) on Jevington Road in Polegate. The air ambulance was called to the scene but the driver was taken to the Eastbourne DGH by road ambulance.
The car, believed to possibly be an Aston Martin was completely destroyed by the blaze and was eventually extinguished by crews at the scene.
Witnesses have told Hailsham News the car could have been part of an organised convoy which was heading to the DGH to show their appreciation for the 8pm clap.
